The story begins with a certain broken barrel experiment. Like all the other experiments, the creatures in the barrel thought that their civilization would just go on and on. How could that be! So I gave them a bit of a kick in the pants. The barrel was cracked, the water spilled over, and the source was thrown in! Everything was being done in an orderly fashion! If the world were an experiment, would its destruction again be less overwhelming ....
